I was scanning the websites as I had my morning coffee and saw this absurd headline on Mediaite.com website and wonder how come Mediaite is in the pocket of CNN. This is just too weird. Check this out:
====
FLIES HIGH? CNN came in 3rd out of 3.
How can 3rd out of 3 possibly be flying high? I just don’t get it.
CNN at 10pm came in 3rd (out of 3) to #1 ON THE RECORD at 10pm and #2 MS/NBC.
Well…if 2nd place in the demo to ON THE RECORD at 10pm (and ahead of MS/NBC) is flying high than I suppose it is flying high but it is a bit pathetic. It looks like Mediate can’t count or they are getting paid by CNN or are in some weird love affair with CNN…or perhaps a drunken Christmas Party posting? It just makes no sense.
Let’s check the facts.
ON THE RECORD at 10pm won Thursday night in demo and total viewers as it does 99% of the time.
Maybe the silly Mediate headline because MS/NBC has been beating CNN in that time slot and placing CNN in 3rd place so many nights? is that the reason for that ridiculous headline? Lawrence O’Donnell has been doing very well against CNN at 10pm — both fighting for 2nd place — not even first place (that’s us.)
But here is more weird news (facts) that maybe Mediaite is hiding and which leads me to ask if Mediaite is on CNN’s payroll: in the total ratings for Thursday, CNN’s Anderson Cooper came in 3rd place (out of 3) behind MS/NBC.
Is 3rd place – out of 3 - flying high? Really?
Here are more facts - the total numbers for Thursday:
1/ – ON THE RECORD at 10pm – 1, 571,000
2/ – MS/NBC Lawrence O’Donnell – 843,000
3/ – CNN Anderson Cooper – 711,000
Flying high? hardly.
There must be something cozy going between Mediate’s reporter and CNN. It is just too weird.
In the article, Mediate also refers to Anderson Cooper at 10pm as a “ratings monster” — ratings monster? 2nd place for 10 years? is that a ratings monster? I don’t even know how to respond to that.
Another bizarre thing about the Mediate article? It does give mention to my Fox colleagues by name (Hannity / O’Reilly) and talk about their time slots – but fails to mention ON THE RECORD at 10pm at all when the article is about the 10pm time slot. The article seems to want to make ON THE RECORD at 10pm invisible. Go figure.
And why do I post this ? because our staff of 12 at 10pm really hustles, works long hours and it is important to stand up for them.
And finally, this ridiculous Mediate headline is NOT Anderson Cooper’s fault. Like all of us, Anderson Cooper works hard. This silliness is the work of the reporter and editor for Mediate.
