I really am not sure what I did wrong in this viewer’s eyes (and in the eyes of many.) I am posting this comment below to provoke a discussion about the interview and to help me understand. My goal in this interview and every other interview is to do the best job I can. Of course I am not perfect but I do try and when I make a mistake, I need to understand so that, if I agree it was a mistake, I can correct it or at least learn from it. My goal is to elicit information for you so that you can decide about any particular issue that happens to be on the nation’s radar screen. It is not about picking sides but about getting information.
So..in last night’s interview of former HHS Sec, do you think I was unfair? If so, please explain to me so that I understand. I don’t seek to be unfair – I do attempt to get the facts. Of course if the facts happen to be something one does not want to hear, that is unfortunate but it remains the facts. In this interview with HHS Thompson, I was not answering questions but asking them…seeking to get information. To the extent I probed and probed, it is because I was trying to make sure I understood what he was saying because my assumption is that you may be like I am and you may not fully understand what the guest is saying.
