Should the New York Times discipline Charles Blow for anti Mormon remark?

Read the article and tell me what if anything the New York Times should do about this matter.  Is this matter now over? or is it the tip of the ice berg?  I don’t know.   I am always curious when I see bigoted comments followed by an apology – is the apology enough? or did the person just get caught and there are some deep seeded problems of bigotry that just happened to have been exposed?  How do we know?  What is the responsible reaction from the New York Times? And when should the American viewer/reader be gracious and accept an apology and when should we demand more example of remorse?  Start blogging and I urge you to give me thoughtful posts (not a flip remark because Blow was obviously nasty himself.)  This is an important issue..we need to discuss it.
