President Clinton — says it would be “calamitous” for the country. See below
Subject: Travel pool #5
At 5:23, your pool was ushered through a small staircase and a kitchen into a lavishly adorned living room, with golden framed classical paintings. At least one Degas-looking one was spotted.
We were at the home of Marc Lasry, the billionaire founder of Avenue Capital Group, a hedge fund. Some 40-50 people were crammed there, some sitting on a table. They were listening to former President Bill Clinton, POTUS standing next to him.
Pool missed the first quotes from President Clinton, who praised POTUS and said that “the alternative would be in my opinion calamitous for our country and the
world”.
POTUS has the “right economic policy and the right political approach and I think that their economics are wrong headed and their politics are worse” he added.
More to come.
Footnote, from a WH official: “For those of you asking Bon Jovi’s travel was paid for by the campaign.”
