THIS IS A GREAT 4th of July story: Star, the golden retriever from Afghanistan

You will love this note (below) I received (and the pics!)   By the way, after reading it, I went to Pet Connect Rescue and made a donation.  The link is below and you might want to donate, too.  I realize these are hard economic times for many people but if we all join together and contribute, we can collectively make a big difference.  Every contribution really helps.  It can pay for even one meal for a pet.   Pet Connect Rescue is my favorite charity since 100 per cent of your contribution goes to the pets since everyone who works there is a volunteer — no fancy salaries …just big hearts.

“With Independence Day and freedom in the air, what better way to celebrate than to welcome Star to PetConnect Rescue (www.petconnectrescue.org) and the good ‘ol USA! Star is a 7 month Golden retriever mix who was born in Afghanistan, right outside an a American military base. An American officer took Star and her mother into his care to ensure they would not end up in the wrong hands. After going through a mandatory quarantine, they were flown to the USA. Once they arrived, the officer adopted Star’s mom and contacted PetConnect Rescue to help Star find a home. Star is a sweet girl who enjoys romping in the yard with her foster sibling, and is great with kids. PetConnect Rescue supports our troops as they reach out to save these innocent lives in the face of war.”

I’ve also taken the liberty of attaching a couple of pics of Star. Thank you so much for sharing this happy story with your followers!

Happy 4th, and safe travels.
