Yes, I know….politicians (both sides) trash their opponents. It is lousy and they get away with it. I guess that says a tad bit something about us voters, right?
Well….an Obama SuperPac is leading the way with a new low – going one step further and launching a campaign to trash people who will not be chosen as the Romney running mate. The Obama Super Pac wants to trash the Romney VP candidate ultimately chosen and, since they don’t know who that is, they have decided to trash many people hoping to include the ultimate chosen candidate. The Obama Super Pac is doing this via a new website VEEPMISTAKES.COM.
This truly is a new low – picking successful members of the Republican party, assigning each the possibility of being a VP candidate and then trying to destroy him or her – even though all but one (and maybe none) will be the running mate. Think about it – they are trying to destroy peoples’ character who won’t even be in the game. Really? Is that right? What if your children did that?
I know President Obama does not run the SuperPac but he should be a leader and step up to the plate and state this is wrong. He should send a strong message to his supporters. Casting a wide net to gratuitously destroy people who won’t even be the VP candidate is just one step too far.
Am I wrong?
By the way, I thought it rotten how Gov Romney looked the other way when his supporting Super Pacs were being dishonest during the primary season. Gov Romney dodged being a leader by saying he doesn’t run his supporting super pac and that the law prohibits him from doing it. That is true, the law prohibits candidates from running their supporting super pacs, but nothing prohibits a candidate from showing us what true leadership is. Nothing would have prevented Gov Romney from saying it was wrong except his unwillingness to step up.
