My first thought when I read the red text below was….really? we have to debate this? Should we not simply proclaim it? Is there any room for disagreement? I know we have process and must follow it and should follow it – but when diplomats die working at their posts overseas I don’t think there is any debate at to whether they should be honored. So ..let the debate continue and let’s get to the vote.
Urgent: House begins debate on resolution to honor diplomats killed in Libya
Per Pergram-Capitol Hill
Pretty straightforward debate. But Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) seized the floor and is talking about how Congress was never completely clued in about US operations in Libya.
It is unclear if we will have an actual vote on this later tonight.
