New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal are set to take the reins of the Republican Governors Association. Governor Jindal will lead the committee in 2013 and Governor Christie will take over in 2014, that is assuming he wins his re-election campaign next year.
So why is it a big deal to lead the national group? It is a great way for governors to prepare for national fundraising….and that fundraising is usually for future presidential campaigns. Both Governors Mitt Romney and Rick Perry headed up the group before their 2012 campaigns.
Governors Christie and Jindal are both rising GOP stars. They are considered likely White House contenders in the future.
So what do you think? Is this a sign of Governor Christie’s and Governor Jindal’s future ambitions? Post your thoughts below!
