Subject: Video: Ryan makes 2 millionth voter contact call
Date: October 8, 2012 5:13:40 PM EDT
Per NBC Pooler –

At approximately 4:35 PM local time, Paul Ryan made a phone call to Michael DeBose, the campaign volunteer who made the 2 millionth voter contact call in Michigan. Ryan called using his iPhone (yes the hunting orange one).
Background on DeBose, per the campaign: Father of eight, lifelong resident of Grand Rapids, MI. Graduated from Creston High School – one of his favorite places to knock on doors is in the neighborhood of the high school. We have yet to get his occupation, but his wife works at the local hospital. A campaign aide identified his race as African American and said he has become more passionate in the last four years because people identify his race wit who he should be voting for.

Q from Press: Are you gonna win Michigan?
“I think so. I think we got a very good chance.”

One sided conversation readout, as we couldn’t hear the voter:
“Hey amanda, Paul Ryan how are you?”
“Couldya please, that’d be great. Thanks.”
To press: “I feel like Ed McMahon, you know? Congratulations”
“Hey Michael, it’s Paul Ryan calling. Hey I’m running with Mitt Romney.”
“Hey, you have made the 2 millionth voter contact call in Michigan and
I want to thank you for the hustle. I want to thank you for the
dedication. I want to thank you for taking all the time to come into
the victory centers.”
“How many kids do you have Michael? You have 8 kids and you’re taking
this kind of time to help your country to make this campaign work. I
can’t tell you how thankful we are for what you’re doing, we really
appreciate it.”
“That’s what it’s all about. I really appreciate it. You rooting for
the Tigers?”
“Hey I’m sort of a local guy so we’re pushing for them too.”
“Congratulations and keep up the good work. Alright man, take care. Thank you.”\
