By the way, another idea (courtesy of my very practical husband) is to put some pans of cold water in your freezer to freeze so that if your power goes off, you won’t lose all your food. You move the frozen water to the refrigerator section and don’t open it until you get power back. You will have an old fashion ice box.

One thing no one has mentioned too – for people in the affected areas who stayed should fill their bathtubs w water before the water is shut off so they can flush toilets. Usually after power goes, so does water supply. And the only way to manually flush toilets is to have a water supply
