House Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon spoke with reporters outside the House Intelligence Committee area following a briefing on Benghazi by DNI Clapper and other national security officials.

He said Clapper told lawmakers he is working on declassifying 45-minute “recap” video of the most important points of the attack. Suggested the president hold a presser just on Benghazi to clear things up.

McKeon highlights:

“Many of my questions were answered; many were not.

-There just wasn’t time to ask them all

What I gather is there is a lot of misinformation out there in the media

-McKeon said: “I would encourage them to get the information out because there’s still a lot of unrest in the country.”

-There are people who think there’s a cover up; on the other side says it’s Rs who made it political

-We’re passed the election, I think it’s time now for them to lay it all out

-They didn’t have time to view the 45-minute video of the attack; Clapper said he will work to declassify it

The president should have a press conference on just this topic to clear things up

-Talking points changed or not? McKeon: Not so much “changed” but updated as they got more current information
