POTUS arrived at Government House for his meeting with Prime Minister
Yingluck Shinawatra at 5:59 pm.

The massive cream-colored building, which houses the prime minister's
offices, was lit with outdoor lights as dusk approached.

The manicured lawn has palm trees and bushes decorated with yellow
Christmas tree type lights. Dozens of large U.S. and Thai flags
adorned the heavy metal gate surrounding the complex.

A red carpet was laid out for the two leaders. Dozens of soldiers -
representing the different branches of military with red, gray and
black uniforms -- stood in front of the carpet.

POTUS walked down the red carpet with the prime minister. The soldiers
came to attention before the military band began playing. The two
walked slowly in front of the soldiers before heading back to the spot
where they were standing for a moment then down toward the building.
The whole arrival ceremony was 10 minutes.

About 20 dignitaries, including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and
the US Ambassador, lined up behind the two on the red carpet.

Bangkok is still warm - even at this hour - with no breeze.
