Seven Thai men dressed in matching blue uniforms scrambled to lay down long red carpet leading from plane's steps to the Beast, past greeters and about 42 "military guards of honor," who lined either side of the carpet.
At 3:15 pm, Potuss walked down the stairs, and was handed a traditional Thai floral garland, small enough to hold in two palms. He handed it to a woman, who appeared to be with US embassy, for safe-keeping.
