Addition to Capitol Hill latest…

(From FNC Chad Pergram)

One more addition to this.

Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-HI, pronounced in-NOH-way)  remains in the hospital suffering from respiratory issues. He is the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and has been in the hospital for nearly a week.

At 88, Inouye is third in line to the presidency behind Biden and Boehner. The President Pro Tempore of the Senate is always the most senior member of the majority party.

Inouye has been in the Senate since 1962. Next in line would be Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) who came to the Senate in 1974.

Since becoming a state in 1959, Hawaii has always been represented by Inouye in Congress. Inouye served first as a Congressman for three years before moving to the Senate.

Inouye also serves as Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee.

Which brings me to another issue. The full Senate today begins debate on the $60.4 billion emergency spending bill to cover hurricane Sandy.
