I called an old friend today — we walked to kindergarten together..grade school…and went to high school together — and during the conversation she mentioned that she had just given some money to Samaritan’s Purse for the Greta Home and Academy. I did not ask her to do it – she just did it. I had not spoken to her in about 3 months and she just did it spontaneously.
I thanked her immensely — these kids in the Greta Home and Academy are good kids and I am so hoping their future will be bright.
And there is more good news…I went to Samaritan’s Purse website a few weeks ago to make a contribution and discovered they did not have a PayPal account. I called Reverend Graham and suggested that they get one (I don’t know about you, but it is so much easier to give with just a click than to try and read those tiny numbers on my credit card…plus it can be annoying typing in my billing address etc.) At the time he was unfamiliar with Pay Pal and said he would look into it….he did…and they added one.
And the good news? Apparently it has been effective to raise money for the many good projects they have around the world — from hospitals to refugee camps to clean water to food for the starving to Hurricane relief to yes, even the Greta Home and Academy in Haiti! I love it when I have an idea that helps.
If you have not seen some of the pics and video from GretaHome and Academy on Samaritan’s Purse website, CLICK HERE and see them. The pics and videos are fun because it shows the children in the new building having so much fun and it gives you some hope for Haiti. Haiti is really a poor country – they were very poor even before the earthquake 3 years ago this January when 300,000 died. The earthquake was devastating and continues 3 years later to be devastating.
