Urgent: House GOPers hold conference call about fiscal cliff
Per Pergram-Capitol Hill
The House Republican leadership this afternoon convened a conference call early this afternoon to discuss the state of affairs on the fiscal cliff with rank-and-file GOP leaders. Such calls are common between leaders and rank and file members during extended breaks.
I am told they reiterated that they would give members a 48 hour notice if they need to recall them to Washington. But things appear to be in pretty much the same place as they were just a few days ago.
The Senate is back tomorrow at 10 am to conduct legislative business on the emergency spending bill for Sandy and dealing with FISA. Neither body has met for legislative business between Christmas and New Year’s since the Senate conducted a roll call vote on December 31, 1970 on a Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund the government.
