Does the AP have to put the paragraph below in an article about Barbara Walters falling and going to the hospital? How about just the facts about the fall? That is the news….
If you are going to write a bio for her (and I don’t think a story about her falling demands one), she has accomplished so much in the TV business…..been an incredible trail blazer for women….she had it a million times harder than women today…..she has been doing more for women in this TV business than any other woman and her accomplishments dwarf the paragraph below.
In exercising judgment what to include in the article about her fall (and our job includes exercising judgment), did the paragraph below have to go into it? What do you think?
