House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH):
The House has voted twice to replace the sequester…the president is using our military men and women as a prop for another campaign rally.
* Boehner talks about how the House twice past bills last year to replace the sequester. But those bills don”t apply now since they were approved in a pervious Congress. The senate plans debate on two separate sequester bills this week. But there are no plans for the House to consider another plan before March 1.
Boehner:
We should not have to move a third bill before the Senate gets off their ass.
House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on Obama:
He does a roadshow…it is time for him to engage, come down one mile if he really wants to lead.
Rep. Lynn Kenkins (R-KS):
Find me one American family that hasn’t cut important things.
Boehner:
If the Senate acts, I’m sure the House will be prepared to act quickly.
* GOP aides say regardless, the House will not be in session this Friday or over the weekend to potentially extinguish the sequester.
Boehner:
The House has done its job. When is the Senate going to act. I’m anxious to see it.
