I just read an article about the debate over “path to citizenship.”
Has it occurred to anyone that we already have a path (we get new citizens every day) but rather the debate is more accurately about changing the current one? We must have some path since we get new citizens.
The current path may be inadequate to some or all but we do have a path and perhaps we should more accurately talk about changing or adjusting or amending or expanding the path to citizenship instead of acting like there is none.
If you don’t like the current path to citizenship it does not mean there is no path. It means you don’t like it.
Am I wrong?
