In February, but just noticed today by the New York Times, the Obama Administration delayed the consumer cost limits until 2015.
That means that the insurance company can raise its cost until that point (2015) — and the ailing consumer will have to pay. The limits beginning 2014 were supposed to be $6350 for the individual’s deductible / co pay and $12,700 for the family policy. And now? Hang on to your seat! That ceiling has now been lifted by the Obama Administration. This is very troubling for the people with chronic illnesses.
Why does it seem that big business always wins out over the little guy?
PS: Per the NYT, when President Obama promoted his health care plan in 2009, he “cited the limit on out of pocket expenses as one of its chief virtures.”
