Below is from FNC Justin Fishel:
FROM NAVY PUBLIC AFFAIRS:
The four destroyers operating in the Eastern Mediterranean are the USS Ramage (DDG 61), USS Barry (DDG 52), USS Gravely (DDG 107), and USS Stout (DDG 55).
- All DDGs are on a regularly scheduled deployment.
USS Mahan (DDG 72) is operating in the Mediterranean and transiting to her homeport (Norfolk, Va.).
The USS San Antonio (LPD 17) has joined the 4 destroyers (Stout, Barry, Ramage, Gravely) currently operating in the East Mediterranean. No specific tasking received — San Antonio is being kept in the area as a prudent decision should ship capabilities be required.
Ships of the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group (Nimitz, Princeton (CG 59), William P. Lawrence (DDG 110), Stockdale (DDG 106), Shoup (DDG 86)) remain in the Fifth Fleet area of responsibility, currently operating in the Southern Red Sea. No formal tasking to support contingency operations in Syria — this is a prudent movement of forces should the capabilities of the strike group be needed.
USS Harry S Truman (CVN 75) relieved the USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Truman is operating in the Fifth Fleet area of responsibility (Arabian Sea).
