From FNC Jonathan Wachtel:
Unconfirmed just yet, but a UN diplomat has just told Fox News that the Russians, the ones who called for the afternoon Security Council session on Syria, are now asking for consultations to be postponed “until further notice.” Have reached out to the Russians for confirmation. The Russians are apparently wanting to get the council to adopt a non-binding Presidential Statement that expresses support for the Russian initiative to bring Assad’s chemical weapons under international control. The French want to introduce their elements for a proposed Security Council draft resolution that would express support for efforts to contain and eliminate the chemical weapons, but also condemn the Assad government for the chemical weapons attack. This of course will not fly with Moscow.
