If you followed Bret yesterday on twitter, you know that he had the “train ride from hell” trying to get to NYC for a meeting for the anchors. I left on the 9am train and was in New York by noon. No problems for me! All was great.
And Bret? Bret left on the one hour later train (the 10am train) and was supposed to arrive in NYC about 12:40 for our 2pm meeting. Did he? Nope. His train had so many problems – stopped, disabled etc. – that he missed the 2pm meeting and just barely arrived in time for 6pm Special Report in NYC!
So…apparently feeling a bit train travel bruised, Bret opted to fly back to DC today instead of taking the train.
How did that go? Not so great.
First, I stayed with train travel despite Bret’s horror story. I took the 11am train and got back right on schedule…..no problems….
And Bret’s flight back to DC? Well…he was scheduled to take the noon flight back to DC but as luck would have it (his luck!) the flight was cancelled.
So….Bret waited for the next flight (which is always fun) and took off at 1pm and should have landed in DC about 40 minutes later.
So did he land in DC about 40minutes later? Nope! Because of very bad weather, his flight circled and circled and circle and circle….I think he said they circled for more than an hour! I just spotted him in his office (about 4:15pm!)
I have never heard of a flight from NYC taking so long…but of course I have never heard of a train ride to NYC taking that long.
Bottom line, remind me never to travel to NYC with Bret.
