from FNC Jennifer Griffin:
Navy spox Rear Admiral John Kirby told reporters:
“This is not over.”
“I would walk you away from reporting the name of the suspect as Rollie Chance (NBC AND CBS reports).”
(I am told that Rollie Chance was the name of the person on an ID found on or near the shooter and that police are now speaking with Rollie Chance – he is definitely not the shooter.)
Admiral Jonathan Greenert, Chief of Naval Operations was on base near his home at 8:20 am when the shots occurred – he was shooting a video message to sailors at the time – was safely evacuated from the base and is now in the Pentagon.
“He is back at work,” according to Adm Kirby, navy spox.
“Building 197 is still in lockdown. More than one building at Navy Yard is in lockdown,” according to Admiral Kirby.
He repeats: “The building is still in lockdown as are other buildings. Still being treated as an active search. No one is moving right now.
One fatality is a security guard at the Navy Yard.
