-As you know, we could not wrap any of the gifts for the kids prior to shipment due to customs restrictions. The Samaritan’s Purse present wrapping team arrived in Haiti yesterday to get your gifts ready for the kids. Rather than just give each child a bulk gift, we want to wrap each present individually. That comes out to around 600 hand wrapped presents!
-Two of our “wrappers” are Marie and Howard Carter. Marie works with me here in our Projects Department and has been the administrative coordinator for the project. Her husband Howard regularly volunteers with SP [Samaritan's Purse.] One of the gifts we have for each kid is a watch. Of course none came “set”, so photo 1 is of our mast watch setter Howard at work. The second photo is of Marie wrapping a gift with love.
-Look forward to seeing you in Haiti on 27 December!

PS – over Thanksgiving Representative Michele Bachmann was in Haiti with her family (her daughter does volunteer work for another organization in Haiti. ) General Walker gave her a tour of Greta Home and Academy and, needless to say, she was VERY IMPRESSED. I ran into her today for the first time since her trip and she could not stop talking about how great Greta Home and Academy in Haiti is or General Walker or any of the teachers …or the students! She loved the students!
