Gov. Chris Christie tonight will headline the Vermont Republican Party’s sold-out Winter Gala.
“It has been a long time since we’ve enjoyed this kind of enthusiasm, and we couldn’t be more proud. We have already sold more than 600 seats and this event promises to be the most successful VTGOP fundraiser in recent history!” Brent D. Burns, the state party’s political director, said in a letter posted online.
There’s even a waiting list.
The fundraiser is the governor’s second, following a stop in Idaho last week, as chairman of the Republican Governor Association. His counterpart at the Democratic Governors Association, Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin, was recently elected to a second term.
The promise of one-on-one time with Christie — a potential contender for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination — commanded a $1,000 ticket price for couples who want to attend a private reception. Otherwise, entry to the gala costs $50 per person, according to the Vermont GOP.
