Below is from the Washington Post today and is what the US Government filed in a NSA lawsuit to keep its surveillance secret. The problem? It is DNI James Clapper who is representing the NSA. How do you trust what he says? Clapper’s testimony last March in the Senate when he claimed incorrectly – maybe deliberately falsely – that NSA does not do domestic surveilance collection is indefensible. Either he got it wrong (and we can not have someone so il informed head NSA) or he lied. Why should the Court believe Clapper? He now has a history of or has been caught telling it NOT like it is. USA/NSA needs more credible spokesperson to be persuasive.
“In my judgment, disclosure of still-classified details regarding these intelligence-gathering activities, either directly or indirectly, would seriously compromise, if not destroy, important and vital ongoing intelligence operations,” Director of National Intelligence James R. Clapper said in a declaration filed in U.S. District Court in Northern California on Friday.
