Two Norwegian politicians have nominated Edward Snowden, the man Director of National Intelligence James Clapper accused of causing “profound damage” to U.S. national security, for the 2014 Nobel peace prize.
The Socialist Left politicians Baard Vegar Solhjell and Snorre Valen said Mr. Snowden’s unauthorized NSA leaks have “contributed to a more stable and peaceful world order,” the U.K. Guardian reported.
The five-member panel that comprises the Nobel committee will consider all nominees after its Feb. 1 deadline.
