The above is a graphic from the Wall Street Journal comparing salaries of regional airline pilots to major airlines.  What is stunning – at least I think so – are the salaries of the regional airline pilots.  The starting salary (co pilot) is only $22k.  We want experienced pilots and no  pilot can afford to live on that salary for long.

Think about it — these regional flights can carry 100 people on them.
