Just think …. more than 300,000 killed during the earthquake a few years ago in Haiti and Haiti was already a country in great distress. When I first arrived after the earthquake I thought there is no way to fix this place. It was overwhelming! But then? Many Americans (and other nationalities) arrived to help and they continue to help to this day.
Samaritan’s Purse was actually in Haiti years before the earthquake helping — and they continued to help during the earthquake and after as Samaritan’s Purse is still there 24/7. When you see what we all can do when we work together to help it is quite amazing.
And yes, we should do more of it — and that includes here at home. You don’t have to do big things like build schools — you can do something like spend some time with a lonely elderly person. It won’t cost you a dime but little things can be huge to others.
