Another ridiculous (absurd?) thing said today at the State Department briefing about the Bergdahl / Gitmo swap

From the State Department briefer:

Ms. Harf:  “I don’t have any more details about what the agreement looks like.  As we’ve said, we received sufficient assurances from the government of Qatar that mitigated the risk her and that we believe led to the fact that we would be able to bring our one American POW in Afghanistan home…”

First — is Bergdahl really a POW?  That is subject to debate and we need more facts.

Second — what assurances from Qatar?  and why should we rely on this – a vague statement of assurances by a State Department spokesperson who refuses to give us facts?
