Can’t Senate Intelligence Chair Dianne Feinstein keep a secret? What about Ranking Member Saxby Chambliss? Why should unknown and known White House staffers be trusted more than elected Members of the Senate?

Feinstein, Chambliss

Email from FNC Chad Pergram:

A Senate aide familiar with last night’s briefing tells me the following:

“Senators were informed at the briefing yesterday that the U.S. obtained credible information that, if anything about the swap became public, Bergdahl would be killed.”

On top of that, I have another senior source saying this assertion is “ridiculous. Notifying Congress does not make it public.”

And another source familiar with the briefing says “this is not what was told to the staff in the classified setting. The Taliban did say Bergdahl was near his death bed, but not that they threatened to kill him.”
