notes from FNC’s Chad Pergram:
Boehner still not committing on supplemental spending bill for the border, but not blowing it up either
Per Pergram-Capitol Hill
On-cam with House Republican leaders on the border issue, supplemental spending bill, calls by Sarah Palin to impeach the president and an effort to fix the Highway Trust Fund.
House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) on if supplemental is blank check:
I’ve aksed Chairman Rogers to do their work…to make recommendations. So I’ll wait to see what they suggest.
Boehner on if he’s not going far enough to impeach the president as Sarah Palin has called for:
I’m going to look for recommendations from the border working group.
I sent a letter to the president on things I think he could do and he hasn’t taken up any of them.
It’s time to take a serious look at what needs to happen.
If we look at the president’s request, it’s all about continuing to deal with the problem…so we have to secure the border so then we can deal with the broader issue of immigration reform.
Boehner on the Highway Trust Fund Fix proposed by House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI):
Very solid bill…it’s a solid piece of legislation..and looking forward to putting it on the floor at the end of next week.
