Urgent: 2nd gun arrest in days in Cannon. Not a staffer

Fox confirms from US Capitol Police that for the second time in four business days they uncovered a gun as someone was passing through security to the Cannon House Office Building.

The firearms was uncovered during a search through bags at a security checkpoint leading to the Cannon Rotunda around 9:20 am et.

The individual has been arrested and is now at USCP headquarters. Working on a name. I’m told it is not a staffer.

Last Friday, Capitol Police arrested Ryan Shucard, communications director to Rep. Tom Marino (R-PA) when he tried to bring in a 9mm Smith & Wesson into another entrance in Cannon.

UPDATE:

From US Capitol Police..

They arrested 59 year old Ronald William Prestage from Camden, South Carolina this morning trying to enter Cannon with a 9mm Ruger. He’s been charged with carrying a pistol without a license.
