Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Dianne Feinstein releases statement on CIA detention & interrogation study

U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Senator Feinstein speaks about START Treaty on Capitol Hill in Washington

From FNC’s Catherine Herridge:

This press release from Feinstein strongly suggests that the report release could drag well into August or even September. Feinstein says the executive summary is heavily redacted, and the committee needs to understand why so much has been cut.  This will involve considerable back and forth between the IC, the White House and the Senate Intelligence Committee.

Washington-Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today released the following statement:

“The committee this afternoon received the redacted executive summary of our study on the CIA detention and interrogation program.

“A preliminary review of the report indicates there have been significant redactions. We need additional time to understand the basis for these redactions and determine their justification.

“Therefore the report will be held until further notice and released when that process is completed.”
