From FNC Ed Henry:
At 330pm from a government official Fox is getting a copy of a DVD that has been shown to Members of Congress in a classified briefing.
Senator Feinstein requested this from CIA and the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence viewed this evidence Thursday, according to the government official.
This information is not really that new because if you go back to the Intel Assessment — released by the WH and Secretary of State John Kerry on Aug 30 — you will see a reference to a “sampling of videos confirmed that some were shot at the general times and locations described in the footage” (p. 4 of the intel assessment on the WH website)
*****I am told by the government official that these are YouTube videos shot by pro-opposition forces in Syria to show chem weapons use on Aug 21.
These are those videos referenced in the intel assessment over a week ago. What’s new is the videos themselves were shown to Senators on Thursday, and we will have then shortly.
The point being these were SHOWN at classified briefings but are not really classified info. It’s open source material that can apparently be found in chunks on YouTube. The CIA pieced this together at the request of Feinstein, who has been favorable to the President’s push for action.
Also keep in mind why and when these videos are being leaked — three days before the President makes his case for action to the nation — at a time when the public and Congress are skeptical. This is all part of the attempt to show why action needs to be taken.
