“South Sudan has one of the lowest literacy rates in the world, with only about a quarter of its people able to read and write.
Because of decades of civil war, few people in the region had the chance to go to school.
The reopening of the main university now means this young nation will benefit from a new generation of graduates. With such a low literacy rate, South Sudan will need them.
