Subject: In-town pool report #5 — Books

Pool was led into the store at about 12:40 and Potus was already browsing and mingling in the fairly crowded store. Daughters Sasha and Malia were with him, at times meandering away to peruse the shelves while their dad chatted up other customers.

Pool was stationed a good 50 ft away at the check out and could not hear any conversations. We had time to look at the inventory of tote bags, which included a plastic shopping bag with a cartoon picture of Michelle Obama on it. It reads “First Lady of Fabulous” and sells for $12.

Potus was wearing a brown leather jacket and light tan sweater. After about 20min, he made his way to the registers, saying “Happy Holidays” to a little boy and turning to look for Sasha and Malia. “I need their help.”

His books (see partial list below) were already on the counter. Potus chatted with the sales clerk about a bookstore in Chicago, the pool could not hear the name.

Asked what he bought, Potus said “it is a long list” and “Books for every age group, from 5 to 52,” he said, smiling. With that, we were ushered out. Potus left by saying, “Have a great holiday!” and the shoppers applauded.
