Latest … from AF1

Subject: Travel pool report #1

Greetings from Andrews AFB, where the president is taking off for an overnight in exquisite Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Obama is slated to host a town hall and attend a fundraiser for the DCCC. Scattered around those events, he’s due to spend time with a Minneapolis woman as part of a new “Day in the Life” series of events. We do not yet have details on the timing or access of those stops. Your pooler will send info along soonest.

Press Secretary Josh Earnest is expected to gaggle en route.

We have some notable flyers today. Rep. Keith Ellison and St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman are flying with POTUS. Coleman came back and said hello to the pool as he toured the plane on what he said was his first AF1 flight.

Also traveling on AF1, although not in the press cabin, is George Stephanopoulos, the new chief anchor of ABC News.

Marine One landed at 11:10 am. Obama emerged to cheers from a group of ROTC kids who gathered at the gate to watch. The president got another cheer when he saluted at the top of the steps before boarding AF1.

Earnest, Dan Pfeiffer, Valerie Jarrett, Anita Decker Breckenridge and Marvin Nicholson followed.

At 11:18 we are rolling.
