Shaved ice outing

Pool report #6
Shave ice
January 3, 2013

After bowling with his daughters, POTUS departed the Marine Corps base. The pool rejoined the motorcade at 3:47 p.m. No details about strikes, spares, turkeys or other notable bowling feats were provided.

The motorcade proceeded directly to Island Snow, located in a small shopping center, arriving at 3:56 p.m. A shave ice outing has become an annual event for the Obama family. POTUS, Sasha and Malia were accompanied today by several family friends.

After a few minutes inside, President Obama emerged with a green and red shave ice in hand. Casual in an untucked navy polo shirt and jeans, POTUS greeted the small crowd that had quickly assembled outside. “How are you doing?” the president asked as he began shaking hands.

The pool was kept at a distance, so additional conversations were largely inaudible. The White House said only that the group ordered “an assortment of flavors” at Island Snow. Rain has been falling much of the day on Oahu, so weather conditions were not ideal for frozen treats.

After spending a couple minutes shaking hands, POTUS hopped in his waiting SUV. The motorcade returned to President Obama’s vacation home, arriving in the Kailua neighborhood at 4:15 p.m.

The pool is once again holding at a nearby house.
