Subject: Pool #1

Motorcade left the South Lawn at 1:02 p.m. and arrived in Arlington, Va., at One More Page Books at 1:15 p.m. for an OTR Small Business Saturday event with Sasha and Malia.

From the door of the small book shop, which the White House described as an "independent, neighborhood bookstore," POTUS could be seen holding up his BlackBerry, apparently looking up a title, as he spoke with shop owner Eileen McGervey. "Preparation," the president said. "That's how I shop."

Wearing a dark windbreaker against the blustery weather outside, POTUS handed off a stack of about 10 books to the clerk -- pool was too far away to read titles -- (will send in a later report if we get them) and then shook hands with several employees. He then began to wander through the business with his daughters as pool was escorted out.

"We're doing Christmas shopping," POTUS said to a question from the pool about the fiscal cliff. "Happy Thanksgiving, folks."

POTUS emerged about 10 minutes later to shake hands for a few minutes with two small groups that formed outside the shop on the sidewalk.

Motorcade is now rolling at 1:38 p.m.
